Thirty some years ago, a tiny bird was hatched in a little cage. Over the years she grew and
grew as her owners took care of her to the best of their abilities. After many years, they realized that she had outgrown her cage and had begun to feel trapped and confined. Although it caused much sadness to them, they knew the time had come
and they opened the door to her cage and set her free.
The little bird was so excited to be out on her own but she was
having a difficult time trying to learn to fly. Many times she fell but struggled to get up and try again. It was more difficult to be on her own than she had ever imaginged and she soon began to feel vulnerable and weak. Often she longed for the comfort and
security of the tiny cage she had left behind.
